New hydraulic system on support vessel AMBER G.

We have recently built and installed a completely new hydraulic system on board the ship AMBER G, commissioned by Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam.

Complete new hydraulic system on a new ship.

This project was a comprehensive and challenging assignment for our team, spanning several months, where we were responsible for the entire hydraulic system on board the ship. We carried out this work as a ‘preferred supplier’ for the shipyard, in close collaboration with them. Throughout this project, we were responsible for all the hydraulics on board, with the exception of a few existing elements.

We took care of the entire hydraulic piping on board, from the hydraulic unit to the connection to the ‘users’ and components on the ship. Additionally, we realized a new hydraulic unit for controlling the crane, Davit, and A-frame. An adjustment of the hydraulic system for the steering gear was also made.

From 3D designed piping to assembling the hydraulic powerpack.

The hydraulic piping was fully designed in 3D, based on the construction and framework of the ship but with an eye on the most optimal routing and installation.

The stainless steel piping was partly prepared and CNC-bent remotely, and partly made and bent on-site by us. Our mobile workshop on location provided our technicians with sufficient opportunities to work efficiently and effectively.

The hydraulic unit (powerpack) was assembled, built, and installed by us based on the customer-specific requirements and the necessary requirements of the machines on board. Finally, we adjusted and modified the existing hydraulic unit for the ship’s steering gear to the needed and required situation.

About the ship AMBER G

The ship AMBER G is a ‘support vessel’ owned by Rederij Groen and will be multifunctionally deployable for providing support services and operations offshore. The ship was completely newly built for the functionalities it will be used for from now on.

Project completed

We completed our job in January 2024, and in February of this year, the ship left Damen Maaskant’s shipyard.

We look back on a wonderful assignment and once again a pleasant collaboration with the shipping company and the shipyard.
